Founder & triathlete

Lotte

I'm Lotte, the founder of Brick to Brick. I've raced a full Ironman, an Ironman 70.3, and a range of shorter triathlons, so I know first-hand how overwhelming the sport can feel when it's meant to be fun. I started Brick to Brick to give beginners the clear, practical playbook I wish I'd had at my first race. I write from personal race experience and back up training, health, and gear guidance with reputable sources. I'm a passionate age-group triathlete rather than a certified coach or clinician, so I flag when something calls for a professional.

What my race experience can and cannot tell you

My experience as an age-group athlete informs the beginner questions I notice and the examples I can describe personally. It is not a coaching qualification, clinical expertise, or proof that one plan, product, or race strategy works for everyone. Training, health, and nutrition guidance needs evidence and context beyond one athlete's experience.

How to read a page with my byline

The byline identifies responsibility for the article; it does not mean that I personally tested every product or independently verified every claim. Product comparisons are research-based unless a page documents a named tester and test method. Consequential claims should have visible sources, while examples should state their assumptions and limits. The editorial policy explains the research and update standards.
